Welcome to the inaugural 'Batting For Breast Cancer' taking place in Perth on Thursday 21st February, 2008.
Glenn Mitchell and Karen Tighe are the hosts of this panel style event, held in an informal setting, in the courtyard at The Oxford Hotel, with proceedings starting at 6.30pm till 9.30pm.
Guests on the panel will include many of WA's Cricket and Sporting greats, and our major interstate guest is John Buchanan, coach of the most successful Australian cricket team in history.
The night will showcase a cricket theme, with Glenn Mitchell and Karen Tighe interviewing and discussing up to date sports news, it will also feature references to Breast Cancer, and somewhat thank the male supporters of those affected by this illness.
The whole event is run by volunteers and 100% of the ticket price goes to the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA. Those unavoidable expenses have been met 100% by sponsors.
The Breast Cancer Foundation fo WA relies solely on the generosity of the WA community to continue its vital grass roots work, Batting For Breast Cancer event will make a very significant contribution to this worthy charity by raising funds for the Foundation, and awareness that early detection saves lives.
